Returning a damaged product is always a big problem for both the buyer and the seller. The buyer has to find a courier to return the product to the seller, on the other hand, the seller has to face certain financial losses because of those returns.
To make things comfortable for both the parties Amazon initiated a unique program called Amazon “Easy Ship”. As per the program, Amazon took care of returns and refunds on behalf of the seller. For this, the sellers need to use the Amazon logistics service instead of third-party courier services.
In the purview of the above new program, Amazon is planning to launch “Automatic Returns” facility soon. So merchants can focus more on business instead of worrying about the returns. Starting from 1st September 2016, all the returns under Amazon “Easy Ship” will be covered under “Automatic Returns” policy.
Merchants facing significant financial losses because of the high rate of returns. Sometimes sellers are getting back up to 50% of the products they sold as returns. Electronics, Mobile phones are among the major categories that witnessing heavy returns from the customers.
Buyers are also returning the products without any substantial reason. Such type of nature is indirectly affecting E-Commerce sites and the sellers. Keeping this in mind, all the E-commerce companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal taking measures to minimize the product returns. Soon we can expect stricter policies for those we return products without correct reason.
