Truecaller is becoming an essential app for a smartphone to identify unknown numbers before lifting the phone. Truecaller mainly follows two methods to collect caller information.
1. Gathering all the information from its users contact lists.
2. Asking the correct contact details from those users who install Truecaller on their phones.
For example, consider that 9123456789 is an unknown number.
The contact saved in my phone as Ramesh. The person Ramesh doesn’t know basics of technology; He is not using any smartphone. Even though when Ramesh called someone else, they can identify Ramesh through Truecaller.
The technique behind this is when we install Truecaller it uploads all of our contacts to the Truecaller universal database. If somebody in my contacts called to some unknown persons, Truecaller would display the exact name what I stored in my contacts.
The second method Truecaller follows to show unknown numbers is, directly asking those users to enter the details, who install Truecaller app on their phones.
Whatever the method Truecaller is following to display your name to somebody, you can edit your name if it’s misspelled or your nickname is shown instead of your original name.
To change your name, you have to install Truecaller app from the Google Play Store. Once the installation finishes, enter your exact name without mistakes. If the app is already there on your smartphone, follow the steps below:
Open the app and its Menu. There will be an option named “Edit Profile”. Tap it. Now, once again tap the pencil icon in front of your name. Enter your correct name and finally, press “Save Changes”. That’s it. Now onwards your latest name will display to the unknown contacts.
