We all might be aware that Google has recently rolled out its new operating system Android 11. Google has rolled out a new feature which will now allow its users to automatically revoke permissions from unused apps. The feature is infact disabled by default, but users can easily enable it. Here is a detailed guide for that. Do follow this to automatically revoke app permissions.

Set Up To Automatically Revoke App Permissions

  • To begin with, you need to make sure that your phone is running on the latest Android 11
  • Now open the app drawer and click on the ‘Settings’
  • On the Settings page, tap on ‘Apps and Notifications’ option
  • Then under the apps section, pick the application that would like to revoke the permission for
  • Now scroll down, and you will be able to find an option ‘Auto Revoke Permissions’
  • Then use the toggle option and turn the auto revoke permissions feature on

That is it, you are done with setting up. The permissions for the application will be automatically revoked if you don’t use the app for a few months.

This new feature in Google messages will actually allow the users to schedule text messages at a future date and time.

Steps To Schedule A Text Message In Google Messages

  • Make sure you have the latest, updated version of the Google Messages app on your phone
  • Once you are sure about the latest update, then open the Google Messages app, start a new conversation or you can even enter a older conversation
  • Now type a message that you would like to schedule and send
  • Now tap on the send button and hold it for a while. This can also be called as long press.
  • This will initiate the message scheduling feature
  • You will be redirected to a new screen where you will find scheduling options, select date and time and then tap on save
  • Once you are done with it, tap on send option found there
  • That is it, you have successfully scheduled your message

So, you don’t have to worry about how to schedule a message from now on as you have this feature on Google Messages itself.

Learn To Create Emoji Mashups With The Help Of Gboard On Android

This emoji kitchen feature is now currently rolled out for beta users, so you need to be using the beta version of the application to try this out.

  • Now head to Google Play Store and install the Gboard Beta application on your android device
  • Once you are done with the installation of the app, then open Gboard app
  • Now click on ‘Preferences’ option under the settings of the app
  • Here, you need to enable the options – Show emoji switch key, show emojis in symbols keyboard, and Emoji browsing suggestions
  • Once you are done enabling the above mentioned options, head to any of the messaging apps like Messenger, WhatsApp, Hangouts and then tap on the keyboard
  • Now tap on the Emoji option found on the keyboard, then it will show you some suggestions
  • You can tap on different emoji combinations to create unique emojis

Add Third-Party Shortcuts To Your Google Assistant

With the recent update, you can now easily invoke in app actions to the Google Assistant. You can now easily do some actions in third party apps like Instagram, WhatsApp with the help of the shortcuts that you have created.

Add Third Party App Shortcuts To Google Assistant

  • Firstly, open the Google application and head to the ‘More’ option that can be found at the bottom of the bar. Now navigate to Settings > Navigation bar
  • Then tap on ‘Services’ tab and open ‘Shortcuts’
  • Here on the next screen, you will find all the third party applications listed that are supported on your phone by Google Assistant
  • The shortcuts are made available there according to the applications that you have installed on your device
  • Now tap on + to add your favourites, then you will see a confirmation message from Google Assistant
  • ‘Your Shortcuts’ tab will show you all the third-party application shortcuts on your device
  • Now you can directly go ahead to Google assistant and use your voice commands to get the tasks done with the instructions
  • You don’t really have to use the same phrases listed there, but similar words in different alignment will also work
  • Just say something similar to the Google command and it will process correctly
