Command prompt may not be a very popular tool or program among the normal users like us but even we make use of it at times. Have you ever noticed how boring and dull it looks that the users lose interest in using it? When we use it we may sometimes feel like we have been thrown into the early days of the computer. When we think of it honestly, the app doesn’t look modern at all. But what can we do about it? We may not be able to change the total appearance of the command prompt window, but we can actually be able to change colours using some simple steps. So, here we present you with some of the steps using which you can change command prompt colours.

Follow the instruction below.

First, you need to open the start menu on your computer, then type cmd in the search and then type enter. Now click on the command prompt program to open the command prompt window. Now right click on the program’s title bar and then select the properties from the app’s drop-down menu. Now switch to the colors tab on the opened window.

Now you will find that you have got several options to play and have fun with. You will see four properties that you can change in the upper left-hand corner of the window. They will be screen text, screen background, popup text, and popup background.

Now for changing the command prompt colours, you can set the very high opacity and choose suitably subtle colors for your command prompt window. Change colours according to your taste and suitability. You can also explore other tabs using which you can set up other options like the cursor size, font, and text.

We hope this simple procedure helped in learning how to change colours of your command prompt.
