You may have been using a 3G modem for your computer or laptop, but ever wanted to have a WiFi at your home? Well who don’t want to have a WiFi. Don’t worry its not going to charge your extra money as we are here to help you create a 3G hotspot like you do on your mobile by using your 3G modem.

All you need for creating a WiFi hotspot:

A laptop/ Computer running on Windows OS

A 3G Modem with net connection

And the most important thing is that your PC/laptop should have the WiFi feature in it and it should be turned on while doing this process

 Step1:

This is a very simple step where you need to just connect your 3G modem to your laptop/ computer and just connect it to the internet.

Just make sure your modem is connected to the internet and then proceed to the next step.

Step2:

In the second step you need to configure you computer/ laptop with some settings. First of all Click on “Windows + X” key combination and then click on command prompt (admin) to open the command prompt as an administrator.

Step3:

In the command prompt just type the following command.

netsh wlan set hostednetwork ssid=wifiname key=wifipassword

Replace the wifiname and wifipassword with the required wifi name and your password that you his to have and then press enter.

Step4:

Now type

netsh wlan start hostednetwork

and then press enter to start your hosted network.

Step5:

Now you have to go to the Network and sharing center which can be found in the control panel. You will have an option on the side bar which says “change adapter settings”, click on it. Then you will be shown with a page where you have to find your WiFi adapter and right click on it to find its properties.

Step6:

In the properties box just navigate to the “Sharing” tab and then check the “Allow other users to connect through this computer’s internet connection” box and then click on “Ok” to save the changes. That is it and you are done.

To see about the information regarding your WiFi hotspot you can just type “netsh wlan show hostednetwork” which shows you the currently connected devices in your hotspot and various other information. To stop the hosted network just type “netsh wlan stop hostednetwok”.
