If you’re preparing to reinstall Windows 7 or 8 you will need to locate your unique Microsoft Windows product key – also known as the Windows serial or Windows CD key. If you purchased branded computer or laptop from HP, Dell and other brands, normally this product key is on a sticker on your computer. If you purchased Retail copy of Windows it is located with the manual that came with Windows.
However, if you’ve lost your product key, all hope is not lost – your Windows 7 or Windows 8 key is stored in the registry but is encrypted and not readable, making finding it difficult.
Luckily there are several free programs that can help.

అనుకోకుండా ఫార్మేట్ చేసి Windows ఫ్రెష్‌గా ఇన్‌స్టాల్ చేయాల్సి వస్తే.. మీ పిసిలో అప్పటివరకూ ఉన్న విండోస్ సీరియల్ నెంబర్ తెలీకపోతే ఎలా?
ఈ సమస్య కంప్యూటర్లు, లాప్‌టాప్‌లు వాడే చాలామందికి తరచూ వస్తుంటుంది. అందుకే Serial Number చాలా జాగ్రత్తగా రాసి పెట్టుకోవాలంటారు.
