How to Send Messenger Secret Conversations?

Facebook started supporting end-to-end encryption of the Messenger texts since a couple of days. If you worry more about the privacy and security of the Facebook conversations, now you can encrypt the chat, and you can also set to self-destruct the sent messages after a specified period.

How to send Messenger Encrypted messages?

The end-to-end encryption of the Messenger application termed as “Secret Conversations.” Before starting secret conversations both the parties need to enable the option from the Messenger Settings.

Right now the option is only available for the mobile users, and you can’t get it on Web messenger. Open Facebook Messenger application from your Android /iOS smartphone and tap the Profile icon.

How to send Facebook Messenger Encrypted

In the list of the options presented on the screen, you may find an option called “Secret Conversations.” You need to enable it.

If you are using two smartphones to chat with your Messenger friends you can only send encrypted messages from only one device. So decide the most used device for the chat and enable Secret Conversations feature on it.

Now on the Messenger Home screen select “Write a Message” option, on the next screen enable lock screen on the right top conrner and select the contact you wish to start a conversation.

How to configure Self-destruct messages on Messenger?

When you enabled secret conversations for a particular chat conversation, you will get a clock symbol at the right corner of the list of options available in the chat window. There you can configure the timeframe for the self-destruction messages. Now onwards the messages you sent to that particular contact automatically wiped out after they read them.
