The sophisticated time to check the notifications and skim trough the news feed on social media profile is the time when we go to bed at night. This habit of looking at screens in dark rooms at night before sleep might bring you temporary blindness.
After examining the two women who were having this temporary blindness by the doctors of England, they concluded this. This phenomenon causes majorly due to watching screens with one eye opened in bed.
We actually tend to operate mobile phones by lying on the bed on one sided with one eye closed by the pillow and other watching the light from the screen. This causes the temporary blindness which might not be dangerous but not good when continued in long run.
The two women were reportedly got their vision back after 15 minutes. They were undergone several tests and everything was found to be normal.
Tips to reduce temporary blindness
- If you wanted to use the smartphone in the dark room while lying on the bed, at least reduce the brightness to as low as possible.
- Do not watch the screen with one closed or obstructed. If over brightness is not allowing you to see the screen, follow the first tip.
- Watching screens with one eye closed might also increase the photo-phobia conditions which are nasty than the temporary blindness.
- If you want to read an eBook or journal, set the phone to reading mode.
