AI-powered assistant

Google Draw, a web experiment from Google

April 30, 2017 by Satyapriya

As a part of Google’s artificial intelligence experiments, Google has announced a number of AI web experiments powered by the Google cloud services and anyone can go and try them, play them. One such an AI-powered assistant available for the users to try is the Quick Draw!!!

It prompts you by giving a word to draw in a 20 seconds time in a way that the neural network should be able to identify it.

It is a great fascinating experience where we get to know how an AI-powered assistant self-learns over the time using the image recognition and optical character recognition.

Google Draw is a great way to familiarise yourself to the way the neural networks work. As you start crafting the word given by the assistant, Google will start yelling words at you, that it thinks are the things you are trying to illustrate through drawing.

It is thus the best way to not only understand how the AI-powered software work, but have some creative fun time drawing the things and letting the assistant guess our drawings. It is a great game to pass your time on and bring out creativity. So, do try the Google Draw, the web experiment from Google for sure.

An AI-powered assistant in the making to take over Siri and Alexa

April 16, 2017 by Satyapriya

The social networking giant, Facebook is quietly in the process of developing a virtual AI-powered assistant. The experimental assistant from the company has been made available in the Facebook Messenger app as Facebook M. It shows you the true value of having a digital assistant in your pocket that can do many things for you.  Facebook M can actually understand various complex orders and can do many things like booking tickets, contacting companies for any information that you may need. This chat bot from Facebook is still in the works and is undergoing the developing stage. This one works more like the assistant Siri from Apple and it is better than Siri in returning more meaningful answers. Alex Lebrun who started this project said in a statement that everyone is the dreams of creating an AI-powered assistant that is very much smart that behaves like a human, responds like a human. As it is the most expensive thing to make this chat bot available to all the 1.2 billion Messenger users, the company made this one available to a few thousand users in 2015. The company says that this research project can be claimed as successful only after it is made available to 99.9% of the Facebook users.
