Amazon started Kirana Subscription services in India. Every household needs certain set of Kirana goods every month. Keeping this in mind Amazon launched Kirana subscription feature to it’s “Amazon Now” service available in India.
It added Subscribe and Save page to Amazon now. This page provides more than 2500 products ranging from beauty, groceries, automotive, diet and nutrition, household supplies, stationery etc. Earlier Amazon Now is available Bangalore only. At preset it looks like Amazon expanded this service to entire India.
According this new Subscribe and Save feature you no need to select regular groceries every time. Just you have to pick your requirements initially and it saves the list. You can select subscription period depending on your choice. Amazon providing subscription from one month to six months. If you select 6 month subscription, every month the selected groceries will be delivered to your doorstep without your intervention. This is very helpful for busy people.
At present Amazon offers Cash On Delivery (COD) only as payment mode. You can avail 10 percent discount by selecting 3 or more subscriptions on monthly basic. When you selected first subscription Amazon delivered it through Standard shipping and the delivery date will be same for future subscriptions. If you want to change the delivery date, you can modify it anytime, the modified date will be applicable for coming deliveries.
Sometimes we need few products earlier than pre scheduled delivery time. In such situations you can order any items on “one time delivery” basis without worrying disturbing entire subscription.
It looks good for customers and households, but it will be painful for friendly Kirana stores located in our neighborhoods.
