Keep your android device’s Google contacts up to date

October 31, 2020 by Satyapriya

Our android device’s contacts contain a lot of incomplete information, some of the contacts may not have phone numbers and some may not have any mailing address associated and in some cases, we don’t have a record of the anniversaries and birthdays of our family and friends.

Have you ever wanted to get that missing information filled up in your phone? There will be two alternatives available in front of you and one among them include calling up your contacts and noting the information manually by asking the details from them, or the second choice is asking your contacts to update their own information by themselves in your Google contacts.

The second option sounds good right. This process works with the help of a simple web form which will be sent through your Gmail account. The person can simply fill up his/her information in the form and just click on submit button which will update the contact information in your address book.

This will include a few steps which you need to follow and before the process begins you should first create a group with the list of the contacts that you wish to update the information for.

  •  Click Here for creating a copy of the contacts app in your Google contacts.
  • Here, you should update the variables of NAME and GROUP with your name and Google contacts name respectively.
  • Then just select Publish from the menu and then click on Deploy as web app option, then click on Save new version option. Next select “Anyone, even anonymous” under “Who can access the app” choice available and then finally click on deploy button.

Go to Run> initialize, authorise and run the script.

That is it, you are all done with the setup process, now all the Google contacts in your group will be sent an email and when the person update their information, you will get notifications through email.

This is the simple and easy process for updating your android device’s address book.
