Google is planning to bring carrier billing facility for Google Play for purchases in India.

You already know that there are thousands of paid applications and games available on Google Play. But because of poor penetration of credit cards in India, most of the Indian users are not able to purchase paid applications and games.

Internet banking and debit cards are the favorite payment modes in India. Google failed to adopt these methods because of various technical reasons.

Now with the carrier billing, Google is introducing, we can purchase any paid game or application from the Google Play Store, by using our mobile balance. It will be more comfortable to the Indian users, those who struggle to get the credit card with a lengthy process.

Google realized the fact that there are more phones than the credit cards in India. Initially, the carrier billing facility will be available to Idea subscribers only, later it will be expanded to other cell phone operators across the India.

How to Measure Sound Level in your Surroundings with Android App

The app I demonstrated in this video is a free application letting you to measure noises and sounds around you.

It uses built-in microphone or your device to measure sounds. SPL (Sound Pressure Level) Sound Meter comes with an elegant gauge view to show the exact level of sound in decibels. Graphic view is also available to visualize evolution of sounds around the time when you measure it. Application informs you about current noises to better understand what represents sounds you measure.
This app offers you a screen to calibrate the level of noises of your microphone because it depends also of your hardware specifications.
Note that most of microphones on devices are made to record human voices. So, maximum noises that can be measured are limited around 100 dB in some cases.
