You have to produce “n” number of evidence before the card gets blocked. The entire phone call creates frustration in the customers.
To avoid this financial institution across the India silently rolling out a new type of automatic authentication. Now your voice will act as your identity. Already ICICI Bank started using the service since May 2015. Few more banks including Kota Mahindra started using it right now.
But there are few flaws in voice recognition technology that banks are interested in following. We are all familiar with Mimicry. Any mimicry artist can reproduce our voice just by listening to our conversation for few mins. Voice recognition itself can’t provide more security. It has to implement along with biometric or other traditional identity verification methods.
ICICI bank has the plan to provide the voice recognition service to its all the customer base particularly at ATMs, kiosks, and bank branches. Right now the facility is only available in customer care.
