How to use the beta version of an android application

You may have heard this word beta one time or the other. Every android application’s update will be first released on its beta version which is being tested by a set of people called beta testers and after testing it for some time, the update will be released to the application after making any required changes. If you also want to use the android beta app then here are the simple steps that you can follow

  • Open the Google Playstore and search for the application that you want to use the beta
  • Now go to the bottom of the screen and there you can find an option Become a beta tester, click on the I’m in button available there.
  • It will show a pop-up screen with a message to join the beta program, click on join
  • Then you will see the earlier become a beta tester option changed to beta sign up in progress
  • It will take a few minutes after which you can find the updates if any
  • Install the updates and test them before anyone can.

But you have to remember as it is a beta version, the application may not be stable and not all the android applications in Google Playstore have beta testing options.

How to stop using the beta version of an app

As explained in our earlier article, you must have known about the process of using an android app’s beta version. If you haven’t checked it out yet, then Read Here. Using a beta version is good as it gives the beta tester the chance to get the updates and use them before than anyone else can. But it has its own defects as the beta apps will not be stable, they may cause some issues. So anytime you can withdraw from being a tester and that process is also pretty simple as well.

Here are the steps that you need to follow

  • First, you have to head to the android app to which you would like to withdraw being a tester. This can be done by opening the Google Play store and searching for the app, then click on it.
  • Now go to the bottom of the screen and there you may see an option leave click on it to stop using the beta version.

And to complete this process you have to uninstall all the updates of the application, for that you have to uninstall and install the app if it is installed by you, if it is a system app, just uninstall all the applications.
