Stream Videos From VLC Media Player To Chromecast

Google’s Chromecast is one of the most popular devices these days. It allows the users to turn their Televisions into smart televisions as this device allows the users to get internet streamed on their television sets. And not the internet alone, Chromecast even supports to play from the various other media players. But some players like the VLC media player doesn’t support the streaming of videos to televisions.

Streaming videos from VLC Media Player to Chromecast

The VLC media player is among the most popular media players among the computer users and it doesn’t officially support video playing through Chromecast but however, there is a way how you can get this work done. So go through these steps

  • As a first thing, you must be needing a television set that has a USB port to it, and a Chromecast, then a moderate speed wireless connection. You should also have the latest VLC player version installed on your PC
  • Once you are set and ready for all the above-mentioned prerequisites, then you can head towards the next step
  • Open the VLC media player on your PC
  • Then head to the video>render>scan
  • Then it will scan the networks or the devices in range and are available there at that time
  • And after the search is completed it will show you your Chromecast device listed there
  • And then you are ready to stream videos on your television through your VLC media player
  • Then you can open any media file using VLC media player and you can do this by clicking on the file menu and then clicking on the open option, or directly double clicking the media file, or you can also try dragging and dropping the media file to the VLC window
  • And then it will pop-up a warning window where you need to give permissions for.
  • Then among the options, just click the option accept permanently and add the certificate to your PC
  • And users can also try playing or streaming videos using Google Chrome, we have done a video on that go check it out.

What is Chromecast?

A Chromecast Audio is basically a small circular device that connects to your speakers, and in turn lets you stream music using Wi-Fi Direct.Chrome cast is the feature to Stream the Audio/Video Content.By using this feature we can also able to mirrored from a tab of the Chrome browser (with the Cast extension) on a personal computer or from the screen of some Android devices with operating system version 4.4 or above. In the case of “tab casting”, the quality of the image depends on the processing power of the device, and minimum system requirements apply to video streaming.We can have an option like Guest Facility .This will help us to cast the content with out joining to the home WiFi network.

Chromecast Audio introduced support for high-resolution audio (24-bit/96 kHz) and multi-room playback; users can simultaneously play audio across multiple Chromecast Audio devices by grouping them together using the Chromecast mobile app. The feature makes Chromecast Audio a low-cost alternative to Sonos’ multiple-room music systems.

Compatible apps : YouTube and Netflix were supported as Android, iOS, and Chrome web apps; Google Play Music and Google Play Movies & TV were also supported, but originally only as Android apps.

Google hosting an event in new Delhi, it may have a plans to launch the Chromecast second generation in India in the April 20th 2016 event. So get ready for brand new Chromecast.
