How To Reduce Distracting Android Notifications

The smartphones have taken over our lives. This is true even if we accept or not. But that has been moving in a really wrong direction that people are losing their goals and concentration towards work. And if you also feel that you have been getting distracted a lot by the Android notifications, then you need to take control of them and stop them from distracting you.

Here are some of the steps that you can take to stay away from the distractions of the Android notifications on your phone.

  • You will be having a lot many applications downloaded on your Pc, you can have them as long as your storage allows, but to keep them away from distracting you, you should disable the promotional notifications for applications like Amazon, Paytm, PhonPe, and many other apps. To do this you will need to head to the settings of the each and every application individually. Go to your phone settings, then head to Notifications and then select the particular application that you wish turn off the notifications for and then turn off notifications individually for all the applications
  • Disable notifications for your social media applications as that will be the most distracting thing for an android user. Disable notifications by going to the Settings>Notifications, then select the application and turn off notifications. Reduce your enthusiasm about knowing the number of likes that your picture has got
  • Even you can set smart filters for emails that you will get notifications of emails that you have set as important. Not all the promotional bank emails, and other website emails need your immediate attention, so stay away from them by using smart filters in email
  • You can also make use of the do not disturb mode on your device instead of keeping your phone in silent and set some custom exceptions to receive important emails, calls, messages and all

Try using these tips and set up your device settings accordingly and stay away from these distractions.

How to disable annoying notifications from Facebook

Notifications will be a great distraction for smartphone users these days. Notifications from the various apps regularly will be very much annoying and disturbing as well. Earlier in an article I have already written about blocking WhatsApp notifications on your phones, today in this article I am going to show you the process of disabling Facebook notifications.

In your PC:

Everyone must be receiving game requests on Facebook from their friends, but to get rid of such annoying notifications, you can do something

  • First, you should be logged into your account and then head to the Facebook settings page, over there you will find game and app notifications, click on edit
  • Then click on turn off
  • For disabling other notifications like birthday reminders, head to the notification settings page
  • There you can find the Birthdays option and click on off to disable app notifications, just like you can turn off the button behind the other type of notifications to disable them.

 In your android app:

  • Open the Facebook app in your android mobile where your account is logged in
  • Tap on the three horizontal lines available on the top right corner of the app
  • Then click on Apps settings
  • Then tap on notifications and then disable the notifications that you don’t need.

Follow these steps and get rid of the annoying notifications that you often get into your mobile and even PC.

How to disable Autofill feature in a Web Browser.

Autofill is a time saving feature to use, but it is also a quite irritating feature at times. Usually you don’t want to save any personal information while working with your work computer or on office computer.

So, we have here put together the various steps for disabling the Autofill feature in various popular browsers.

Chrome

For disabling the Autofill feature in the Google Chrome browser, go to settings in the hamburger menu. And then go to the Advanced Settings, which can be find at the bottom of the page. And then go to Passwords and Forms, the option “Enable Autofill to fill out web forms” must be unchecked.

And you can also manually edit and delete the existing Autofill entries in the “Manage Autofill settings”. If you are using the Chrome browser in your mobile phone, then you can simply go to Settings>Autofill Forms and uncheck the option.

Safari

For disabling Autofill feature in Safari browser, just go to Safari Preferences (Command+ Comma). And then click on the Autofill tab, where you can manually disable autofill settings from your address book cards, user name and password and other forms.

If you are using the mobile version of Safari go to your iOS settings>Safari>Autofill, where you can manually disable the list of similar items.

Firefox

It’s a little different to disable Autofill settings in Firefox. Open the Privacy tab in the preferences. Select “Use custom settings for history” in the drop down menu next to History. Now make sure that the “Remember search and form history” option is unchecked.

Internet Explorer

In the internet explorer this feature is called autocomplete. To disable the Autocomplete feature in the Internet Explorer, from the menu bar click the Tools menu and then in the Content tab, go to autocomplete settings, where you can uncheck and check according to your preferences. Once you are done then click Ok.

Opera

In the main menu, go to settings, then click the privacy and settings, under autofill, uncheck the option “Enable auto-filling of forms on webpages and that’s it you are done.
