As I already mentioned a couple of days back, today Xiaomi launched it’s first Drone which costs Rs. 30,000 for 4K recording. Xiaomi is not manufacturing the Drone itself. Instead, it is associated with Flymi company which produce the drones; Xiaomi adds its brand to the ready-made drones and markets the devices through its online channels like Mi.Com and other e-commerce marketplaces.
At present DJI Phantom is the major company that manufactures commercial drones priced in between 1 Lakh to 3 Lakhs. Compared to DJI Phantom drones, Mi Drone is much cheaper which costs 2499 CNY ( Rs. 24,640 in Indian currency) for 1080p video recording quality drone and 2,999 CNY (Rs. 30,787) for 4K video recording drone.
The Mi Drone runs on 5,100 mAh battery that lasts up to 27 mins flying session, and it has a range of 3 KMs. The flying duration is five minutes more than DJI drones. The drone also includes a 360-degree camera which can shoot 4K video footage.
For now, the Drone will be available for open beta in China starting from July, the global availability of the Drone will be possible in another few months.
