We use universal serial bus drives regularly in our day to day lives. They will make the transfer process from one computer to the other computer very easy. But all our concern will be about the available Giga bytes in the USB drive as the Giga bytes of our files increase. Don’t worry here is a quick trick that will help you to increase the storage space in your USB drive by reducing the file sizes of the files in it.
Doing this process may cause a bit delay in opening your files, but still you can continue using your drive as you do before.
All you have to do is just so simple
First thing you need to do is formatting the disk. If you have any important files in your disk, store them somewhere and then right click on the USB drive and click on Format. Then you have to make sure that NTFS is selected as the file system and then tick the Quick Format box and then click on Start. By this you will be done with the formatting procedure.
Now you have to right click the USB drive and then open its properties this time. In the opened dialogue box, tick the Compress this drive to save disk space box and then click on apply and finally confirm your choice with the option that includes sub-folders and files and that’s all you are done with the compression of your USB drive.
