Google has launched the all new messaging service yesterday with name Allo. Google has announced earlier in May about this messenger and the launch was made yesterday and now we can download the application Google Allo for free from Google Playstore and iOS Store.

Google Allo, the all new messaging service from Google has some interesting and cool features that the most popular messaging service WhatsApp misses out.

WhatsApp is so far so good and it has been trying to update itself all the time by introducing new features every time. But the all new messaging service from Google has something fresh in its box and here is a look at them

Here are some interesting Google Allo Features

  • It becomes your personal assistant and you don’t need to have an additional application for this purpose. It will provide you with all the details you need. All you need to do is just type @google before your query and it will bring you whatever you want.
  • While chatting with your buddies, if you have something to share them from the internet, then you don’t actually have to leave the app , you can search within the chats using the @google
  • This is one of the cool things about Google Allo application. It provides automatic message replies for the message you receive on behalf of you. And you can simply choose among them and send the one you wish to.
  • This is the coolest one among the Google Allo features, Google has even incorporated picture recognition technology in it. So that if your friend sends you a nature picture, then it will show you suggestions like beautiful, wow and you can respond as you like.
  • Sending the text in the required font size is possible with this application. Yes it can be done very easily by just sliding the send button up and down.
  • Incognito Chat allows you to send self destructive messages to your friends, family or any others.

A search engine with awesome features that Google doesn’t have

Google search is a king that we can say without any doubt. And it has many awesome features that I have mentioned in my earlier articles. But it still lacks some features that the DuckDuckGo search engine is offering us. So why don’t we try it as well. Here I am going to tell you about the most interesting features that the DuckDuckGo search engine has.

Search using bangs:

You can search many popular websites right from the address bar itself by using these bangs. For example if you want to search computer era, use the bang !computerera or !ce followed by your search query and then if you press enter, you will be directed to the computer era results page.

For YouTube, the bang is !yt, and for Gmail !gmail, and there are currently about 8413 bangs available.

Get Cheatsheets:

Type a particular app name, operating system, or any service name followed by cheatsheet and then press enter which will present you with the cheatsheet of the particular app, service or platform that you have asked for. But you have to be a bit specific while asking.

Check websites whether they are down:

You are trying to open a particular website but you can’t, in that situation you would have wondered and doubted whether the website is down for others as well or not. In such case you can even check the status of the website if it is down or not. Just type is <website> down and it will give you the result instantly.

To turn the instant answers feature just go to Settings>General>Instant Settings>On. Make sure it is on and you can generate passwords, find coupons and check websites.

Colour Codes:

You want colour codes and looking for them one by one is not good. DuckDuckGo gives you all the colour codes of all the colours just in one table if you just search with the keyword colour codes.

Switch Text Case:

This feature is actually find in word and other text editing apps or softwares but not in any browser. But DuckDuckGo has it, it actually converts the text to lowercase, uppercase and titlecase. You just have to type the keyword followed by your text in the search and press enter that’s it.

Generate QR Codes:

Generating QR Codes for anything is just so easy with the help of DuckDuckGo. You just type QR followed by the website address and typing enter will present you with the QR Code and it gives you the convenience of opening the website in your phone without having to type the address.

Find App alternatives:

Yes, DuckDuckGo offers you this feature as well. You can search for the alternatives of a particular app by just typing alternative to followed by the app name and press enter, that’s it, it will show you the result.

New features coming to Whatsapp soon

Whatsapp which has become a part of our lives these days has been updating itself all the time. Right after it was being purchased by the Social media giant Facebook, it has gained more and more popularity and still continuing.

With the Whatsapp’s huge popularity and fan base, the company hasn’t seem to be satisfied while it is trying to introduce all the new features every then and now. After releasing the new font for the Whatsapp’s android and ios apps, it is planning to come up with another feature for its users.

It released a new font for the Whatsapp chat application to the users of android and ios devices.

And right after that it is planning to come up with some other interesting and useful features which include

 

  • The company is thinking of adding the feature that allows the users to share all kinds of file formats.
  • Public invitation links
  • QR codes for Whatsapp groups
  • Adds 70 new emojis accepted by Unicode consortium
  • Two factor authentication

Xiaomi’s new software with excellent features

The Chinese mobile making company Xiaomi is all set to release its new software for all the Xiaomi devices with all the new excellent features. MIUI 8 is the new operating system from Xiaomi that is made up with all the exciting features like dual apps, second space, quick ball. The beta version of this OS is going to be released on the 11th of this month and the standard version is going to be released on the 16th of the next month.

So now let us just take a look at the salient features of this operating system which is going to come soon.

 

  • This new OS comes with the inbuilt video editing feature that you can actually edit videos on your phone without having to download any third-party applications. All the various templates and effects that are needed to edit will also be available.
  • Taking screenshots on a particular page while we are surfing is a common feature on mobile phones these days, but what if your desired page that you would like to take a screenshot is more than a page, don’t worry this new OS comes with a dragging screenshot feature which allows you to take a screenshot by dragging to the place that you need and then you can save it easily.
  • You can be able to save more in your Xiaomi cloud storage as it now comes with a compressing feature that allows you to save about 10GB data in only 1GB of space.
  • Using multiple accounts in various apps in a single mobile cannot be possible until you get a third party app downloaded in your mobile, but this new OS comes with the feature dual apps where you can use apps with two accounts.
  • After you get to see notifications like “You neared your data limit” or “Your talk time is about to finish”, you need to go to the recharging app to recharge your phone, but with this new OS you can be able to directly recharge from that notification box.
  • Quick ball is an option similar to quick touch in iPhone where you can select the list of the apps that you regularly use and later when you click on the quick ball icon you will get to see all those icons.
