How to chat with complete strangers with an Android app?

July 22, 2016 by computerera

Most of the chat apps like Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger are intended to communicate with known people. But sometimes we want to interact with complete strangers for timepass or little bit fun.

In the video demo, I introduced an innovative Android app that helps us to find complete strangers living around us through the GPS. Those visitors connect us with their nicknames. We can respond on a public circle or start a personal conversation with anybody. If something goes wrong, we can block those people also.

You may Miss important Facebook Posts with the latest change

July 1, 2016 by computerera

facebook-change

You may Miss important Facebook Posts with the latest change. Time to time Facebook tweaks its news feed algorithm to serve better stories to everyone through the news feed. A couple of days back Facebook changed the news feed algorithm again.

With the latest change, Facebook serves more stories from your Friends and Family members while scrolling through the News Feed. It sets low priority for the people whom you follow for the updates like me.

Why this change?

Facebook placed a threshold on the number of posts that can be visible to every individual on a daily basis. As per the threshold, Facebook shows only a maximum of 1500 posts per day to an average Facebook user. Keeping this in mind, Facebook tweaks the news feed algorithm time to time to serve more quality and desired posts to every Facebook user.

There may be a lot of sources that populate posting to your Facebook news feed such as posts from your friends, family members, people you follow, apps and games your friends installed, etc. But it is the responsibility of the Facebook to strip away all unimportant content and displays quality content to you while browsing the news feed.

What about people you follow?

Now with the latest Facebook tweak, posts from your friends and family members will be prioritized. You may miss important content from the people you follow. For example, 46000 followers of my FB account expect new updates from me whenever they open Facebook. I even posted an update, and there may be little chance to get it in your news feed with the latest change.

So you have a fantastic option to overcome this problem, open my profile and at the “following” button, select “Set First” to never miss my updates. Like this, you can get all the important updates from all the people you follow along with your Family and Friends.

facebook-video-comments

The feature protyped earlier this year in the Facebook’s 50th Hackathon, and finally, it arrived for the end users.

Sometimes photos and videos add more meaning to the discussion on the post. In such a situations Facebook Video comments add a whole opinion on what we are talking about.

The video comments option available on all the platforms like Android, iOS and Facebook web. When you tap the Camera icon placed at the right side of the comment box, option to attach a photo or a video will be available.

If you keenly observed Facebook focussed more on video content in the recent past to dominate Youtube in the video segment. The latest “Video commenting” option is the another addition to the Facebook video content strategies.

How to Delete your Facebook Account Permanently?

May 21, 2016 by computerera

facebook account delete

While creating a new Facebook account, everyone will have lots of enthusiasm, zeal to explore new friends and strengthen relationships. But over the period, many people lose interest on Facebook because of various reasons. Some face bitter experiences, some may lose productivity, sometimes other social and emotional reasons play a crucial role in account closure thoughts on Facebook.

Facebook didn’t provide a direct option to close the Account permanently. By digging into the various Facebook settings, the last option available to keep away from the Facebook is “Account Deactivate”.

The majority of the people I came across consider that account deactivation is the only solution to close their Facebook accounts. But account deactivation is entirely different from permanent account deletion. Here I am providing the procedure to close your Facebook account permanently.

Before approaching further first backup entire copy of your Facebook Data. Once your account permanently deleted, you can’t retrieve the lost data, be careful.

Click this link to get the Facebook Account deletion request page. Before pressing “Delete My Account” button read the on-screen message carefully and understand the consequences. Finally, push the button. That’s it; your Facebook Account will be permanently deleted.

Things to keep in mind:

1. Facebook may take up to 90 days to delete your entire account including the text posts, photos, and videos.

2. Even though your account deleted, the messages you sent to others will remain in their Facebook accounts.

So rethink when you are planning to close your Facebook account permanently.

Facebook is in Big Trouble in the form of user engagement

May 2, 2016 by computerera

Facebook is facing user engagement issue, yeah, what you heard is correct. These are not my words, “GlobalWebIndex” clearly stated this in its latest report.

In recent times I observed a few posts from the friends, in which they mentioned that they are losing interest on Facebook. On an average Facebook posts declined dramatically around the globe. Even though Facebook continues as the number one social networking platform, the percent of the users who post at least a single status update once in a month declined to 33% compared to last year’s percentage i.e. 44%.

Not only status updates, but people are also not willing to share the photos active on Facebook. Last year, 46% of the total Facebook users shared their personal photos on Facebook platform, but this also declined to 37% this year.

Earlier, when Facebook found downtrends in its social engagement it tried to overcome it by creating new applications into the Facebook platform. As per the reports right now Facebook is building a photo sharing application which has the characteristics of the Snapchat. You can also record live video and share them with friends, by using this new application.

facebook camera

When we consider Facebook’s similar attempts earlier, the latest app’s success is also unpredictable. Facebook acquired Instagram in 2012, at the same time Facebook came up with another app called Camera. But it didn’t taste the success and Facebook stopped it in 2014. Facebook released another application immediately in 2014, with the name Singleshot, directly targeting Snapchat. It is also a big failure for the Facebook, which killed the application after 18 months of its arrival.

Right now Facebook is enjoying its top position in social media, but the user engagement trends create fear in the Facebook team. If the users found a better alternative than the Facebook, they will migrate to that platform mercilessly.

I hope Facebook will not lose its social dominance. It knows the great tactics to follow in critical situations.
