Google’s highly known video calling application Google Duo needs no introduction. Even though it is a less used video calling application compared to other popular video calling apps like Messenger, WhatsApp, it doesn’t lack powerful features. In fact, it is embedded with every feature that you would look for in a video calling application. It is not just a video calling app, it even allows you to share your screen to the people over the call to let them know what is happening on your phone. One thing to be noted is that the app’s screen share feature is available on all smartphones that are run on Android 8 or above.

Steps To Share Android Screen With Others

  • Now, you need to choose the person to whom you wish to video call
  • Then tap on the video call option to start the call
  • Once the call started, you will find a few options on the bottom of the screen. Tap on the button that has three stars in it

Steps Involved In Installing Google Duo To Android TV

September 1, 2020 by Satyapriya

Recent reports surfaced news that indicates Google is preparing to launch Google Duo on Android TV. It is well known that the rollout of new features from Google will take time and the users need to be a bit patient for the features to arrive. Rather than waiting for the features to roll out, here are the steps involved for installing Google Duo to Android TV.

Installing Google Duo To Android TV

  • First, you need to download the latest Google Duo APK file.
  • After downloading the APK file, transfer the file to your Android TV. You can use the option send files to the TV app.
  • Then you will also need Solid Explorer installed on your Android TV. Then open it and navigate to the “Downloads” folder and you will find the Google Duo APK file. Open it and select the “Package Installer” option.
  • Now, you can directly install the APK file and Google Duo will be installed on your Android TV without any issue. Then, you can open it.
  • But one thing to remember is that Google Duo even after installing in your TV doesn’t show up under the Installed Apps. So, in such a case, you need to navigate to Settings -> Apps -> See all apps -> Duo and open it manually from there. If Duo is not available there then look under System Apps.
  • Google Duo will open in an Android TV-like interface that supports selected elements, contacts, and search functionality.
  • You have successfully installed Google Duo on Android TV, but you need one more thing to place a call. You need a webcam connected to your Android TV. Make sure the webcam has a built-in microphone.

That is how you install Google Duo on your Android device, if you are worried about the incoming Google Duo calls on your TV, then worry not it won’t show up incoming calls or notifications.

Now you can make voice calls worldwide using Google Duo

April 27, 2017 by Satyapriya

Google has added the ability to make voice calls through its official video calling application Google Duo. It started as an application that only allows its users to make the video calls has now launched this voice calling feature.

This strategy of Google with its various chat and messaging android apps is very much confusing. Google recently in 2016, launched two new messaging applications, one for text messaging, which Google announced the chat app as a competition for the most popular android messaging app WhatsApp and the other one is the video calling application which can be used for making video calls over the internet.

But the Google Duo app now allows the users to make voice calls as well just like Hangouts which Google recently split into two Chat and Meet.

Google introduced both of these apps to keep things simple. If you already have the Google Duo android app on your device, then all you need to do is just update the app, then you will find a toggle button where you need to switch from video to audio for making voice calls.

Google has been launching and updating, making changes to its various apps, but sadly none of them is a big hit and none of them has gained popularity.

August 19, 2016 by computerera

Google Duo beats Pokemon GO

Google Duo became the most popular application on Google Play Store within a short period. Last month Pokemon Go created records in total downloads, but now Google Duo crossed those records as per the latest statistics.

Google lists the Top Free apps based on the total number of downloads on Google Play Store. Google Duo achieved the top place in the chart by throwing Messenger and Pokemon Go to the later positions.

Google Duo gained sudden attention, people, who are waiting for the Whatsapp video calling feature are attracted to the app.

If we observe, Google Duo got more positive feedback compared to other top applications on the list with a 4.5 average rating. It clearly shows how people are satisfied with the one-to-one video calling application.

Everything is positive for a new application in the initial days. But what extent, Google Duo succeeds in the segment purely depends on the Duo adoption rate of the users. People have to convince before making any app as the primary choice for their daily use.
