Fuchsia is the Google’s New operating system

August 15, 2016 by computerera

Google Fuchsia

It seems that Google is working on a new operating system with the name Fuchsia . The incomplete code of the operating system is placed on Google code repository along with the GitHub.

The operating system has many stunning features, but till now Google didn’t open up on the latest operating system. As per our knowledge, Google considering it as the fresh start from the scratch, because Google developed Android based on Linux kernel.

Why Fuchsia

The OS may bridge the gap between Android and Chrome OS and evolve as the single operating system for both the Chromebooks and smartphones. There are plenty of rumors circulating about the new OS, and it seems to release in next year i.e. 2017.

Some people predicting that the new OS is intended to use with  Google’s hardware products such as OnHub router or internet of things gadgets developed by other companies.

By examing the Fuchsia operating system’s code, we have a clue that it uses Magenta microkernel which commonly used for embedded systems. So we can expect the Google’s new operating system is mainly targeted for IoT (Internet of Things) devices.

August 10, 2016 by computerera

Google Chrome

Beginning from September 2016, Google is stopping complete support for Flash-based content on Google Chrome browser and making HTML 5 as the default.

Adobe Flash played a significant role in the past decade in displaying multimedia content like videos, animations, and games on websites.

Flash has severe security bugs. Time to time Adobe is releasing updates to patch those security flaws, but every time new risks are coming into the limelight. Most of the attackers using Flash to transfer dangerous content to the user’s computers.

Keeping this in mind, Google started blocking Flash content partially since last September with Chrome 42. When we encountered some Flash content on the websites, it doesn’t automatically play, and we need to click to play the content.

Now, from next month onwards, Google completely stopping support for Flash and promoting HTML 5 instead of it. Those websites which still using Flash have to change their coding to work smooth with the Google Chrome browser. HTML 5 is light-weight and loads fast. Indirectly it saves battery also.

August 2, 2016 by computerera

Email

Irrespective of the languages we speak, till now we are forced to create a mail ID in English. If everything goes well, soon you can create a mail ID in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam.

Govt. Of India is requesting all the major email service providers like Gmail, Yahoo to offer local language support while creating new email IDs.

According to the reports we are hearing, Govt. already conducted a high-level meeting with Google, Microsoft, and Rediff on this issue.

Microsoft expressed that they are already working to provide the feature to their Outlook platform. Right now Microsoft Internet Explorer, Edge, and Outlook softwares are supporting domain names in local languages. If there is a site in local language immediately when we typed the local domain name in Microsoft Edge browser, it resolves the IP address of the website comfortably.

As per the sources, Google also responded positively to the Govt. Of India’s request.

Google internet speed test is rolling out through the search results. Till now to test our internet download, upload speeds we depend on various services like Speedtest.net etc.,

Last month, few reports already said Google is working on internet speed test tool through its search results page, and finally, it came to live.

Few residents in the US reported they were getting Google Speed Test results when they typed the key phrase “check my internet speed” on the Google search page.

Once the key phrase typed, Google automatically opens up a widget shown above and provides us the download, upload speeds along with Latency, server details and the Google’s conclusion about the quality of the service.

Based on the speed available to us, Google is also providing additional information on which type of services we can enjoy with that speed without any trouble.

Still, it is unclear when Google is rolling out the Speed test feature across the Globe. If the feature available we no need to visit other sites to check our internet speeds and no need to download and install third-party speed test apps from the Google Play Store or App Store. Everything can be possible through simple Google search term.

Get Ready for Virtual Reality on the Google Chrome Browser

July 1, 2016 by computerera

chrome-vr

Google is bringing Virtual Reality experience to its Google Chrome browser for Android.

Till now you can watch Virtual Reality content exclusively on VR ready websites that support WebVR protocol only. Google already implemented “VR Shell” feature in the Beta version of the Google Chrome browser that helps the users to experience Virtual Reality content on any websites even they don’t have WebVR capability.

The current WebVR is one of the JavaScripit API that helps in creating Virtual Reality based websites on the internet. If you are browsing VR content on a VR ready website, suddenly if you decided to switch to another plain website you need to remove the VR headset to read the plain content.

Google is overcoming the discomfort by enabling VR support to every website that the user is browsing through the Google Chrome browser. Samsung already developed a special version of the web browser for its Gear VR virtual reality headset.
