Rail Connect app for faster ticket bookings coming soon

IRCTC (Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation) Limited is all set to launch Rail Connect app which will be having a few more added features to the currently available ticket booking application from Railways.

As said by a senior Railway official the existing app from Indian Railways will become Rail Connect well equipped with the latest technology and facilitates users to book tickets even faster.

With the theme of making ticket booking more user-friendly for the growing demand of the passengers, IRCTC will be releasing this Rail Connect app with updated features to the existing one in the coming week.

This app will be synchronised with the ticketing website which is missing in the current app and it is based on the e-ticketing system.

Travellers can be able to search and book train tickets, check their reservations, cancel them and get journey alerts.

This new app from IRCTC will retain the details of the users that they entered recently so that they don’t have to enter the details every time.

So let us wait for the app to release soon.

Now Tatkal booking on IRCTC is faster with new payment mode from MobikWik

Booking Tatkal train tickets is a time bound activity. If you failed to complete the entire transaction as early as possible, there would be least chances to get the tickets. Keeping this in mind IRCTC is minimizing the transaction time by implementing various methods.

Today IRCTC came up with a partnership with MobikWik, famous e-wallet, and mobile recharge service. Now onwards while booking tickets on the IRCTC site if you have an account with MobikWik you can select the service as one of the payment mode to complete your train ticket booking.

Usually, if you choose internet banking or debit or credit card as your payment mode, it takes at least five to ten more seconds to get the OTP and complete the payment. On the other hand, if you have an account with MobikWik and have sufficient funds in the MobikWik wallet you can complete the payment just within two seconds. This indirectly increases the chances of getting Tatkal tickets in busy hours.

To get benefit from the new payment mode, you must install MobikWik application on your Android phone along with the IRCTC application. So get ready to book Tatkal tickets faster.

To make IRCTC train bookings Aadhaar card is now mandatory. IRCTC planning to implement the decision beginning from Dec 2016.

The rule is applicable for both the online and counter sales of train tickets. Till now Aadhaar is used as the optional identity proof for the passengers while making the journey. The process of associating Aadhaar database with the IRCTC is now live and will be completed by the end of the year.

MobikWik offers 10% cashback on train ticket bookings through “IRCTC Connect” Android app. To avail this follow the procedure:

1. Install “IRCTC Connect” application from Google Play Store.
2. Enter reservation details
3. Select “Mobikwik” as the payment Gateway
4. You will get 10% (maximum up to Rs. 50) cashback.
5. The offer is valid in between 24th June and 28th June 2016
6. To get this offer, you must have sufficient MobikWik balance; otherwise, it will not be processed.

IRCTC Site compromised – 1 Crore Passenger data sold for Rs. 15000

IRCTC Hacked

Here is a panic news.. IRCTC site which we were regularly using to book train tickets got compromised this morning. But IRCTC didn’t officially announced the news. More than 1 Crore users personal information got theft by the hackers.

IRCTC is evolved as the largest e-Commerce site in India. People all over the country are using IRCTC. In this context, Credit Card and Debit Card details and other personal information like PAN number, name, and passenger addresses are in risk with the security breach.

People got confused whether the site hacked or not, IRCTC PRO Sandip Dutta denied hacking attempt and expressed that there is no hacking attempt made on the site.

But the govt. Confirmed the hacking attempt and the data hacked is sold for Rs. 15,000 on a CD.
