Ruuh, a new chat bot from Microsoft

April 10, 2017 by Satyapriya

Microsoft launched a new chat bot for Facebook Messenger and it is known as Ruuh. Facebook on Friday launched this bot and it is under testing. Microsoft announced that it is launching this new bot as it is trying to better the conversations. And it is also heard Microsoft stating that it had plans to expand this bot to a wider audience.

The social media giant describes this one as a Desi artificial intelligence bot. Microsoft is still on its way to make this bot a better one for having human-like conversations.  While it has some basic understanding of questions, it goes fully off the track when we ask some follow-up questions.

Let us hope that Ruuh, the new chat bot from Microsoft doesn’t go unsuccessful like the Twitter bot launched by Microsoft. So, let us at least wish to see an all new bot that works better and helps people to have better conversations and brings the artificial intelligence technology in reach to everyone. This chat bot which is currently under testing in Messenger will soon be a complete and fully developed bot available for the public.

Now you can’t open Facebook Messages in Mobile Browsers

July 28, 2016 by computerera

Facebook Messages

Once again proved that Facebook pushes harsh decisions on its users. A couple of years back it decided to insist users use Facebook Messenger. So rudely it stopped displaying personal messages in the main Facebook application and forced us to download Facebook Messenger to chat with our friends.

The same thing is again happening to those who access Facebook through mobile browsers. Now if you are using Facebook on mobile browser like Google Chrome, Opera Mini, etc., you can’t access messages as you did earlier. Instead, Facebook displaying “Your conversations are moving to Messenger” message on the screen, and placed Facebook Messenger download link.

Beginning from June the same message is showing, but it just hinted the upcoming change. Today Facebook completely blocked access to the message on the Facebook mobile site.

Reasons behind the decision are clear. Facebook wanted to make the Messenger platform more powerful. It already started Bot support for Messenger and integrating various services into the messaging platform. The company has innovative plans to do more business through the Messenger app. So to take advantage of that, first, it has to force users to use Messenger for their personal conversations. That’s what Facebook is doing right now.

Goodbye old Yahoo Messenger

June 11, 2016 by computerera

yahoo-messenger-old

Goodbye, old Yahoo Messenger . Yes, Yahoo is closing it’s old Yahoo Messenger platform on 5th August 2016.

Since its beginning in the year 1998, I’m an active user of Yahoo Messenger which initially named as “Yahoo Pager”. I still remember those days when people spent many hours on Yahoo Public groups in Yahoo Messenger to find out the opposite sex for personal chatting. ASL (Age, Sex, Location) was the buzz word in those days.

Now Yahoo has decided to stop it’s old Messenger platform completely from 5th August 2016. Last Year Yahoo launched new Yahoo Messenger, which has new age features like Group Messaging etc.

Unlike Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger, and other popular messenger application, new Yahoo Messenger focussed more on speed and quality of streaming photos into the conversation.

When you tried to share a photo from your Gallery first, a small preview of the image will be shared and later the high-resolution, the complete photo will be shared. Not only innovative photo sharing concept, but it also hosts plenty of new features required for modern messaging requirements.

Still, people around the globe using the old Yahoo Messenger, which in turn became problematic for the latest Yahoo Messenger platform. Keeping this in mind Yahoo decided to stop old Messenger platform completely in a couple of months. So the past is the past, no more ASL requests, no more Yahoo Public groups, if you want to use old Yahoo Messenger for another few days before it completely stopped this is the right time to explore it again.
