Location based tracking is something that annoys the users as it is a security nightmare as it feels for many. But not many know that it doesn’t actually have to be that way, you can actually change the location settings and disable location access in Windows 10 using a few simple steps.

Disabling Location Tracking in Windows 10 Using Settings

  • Firstly, open Settings (Windows + I) and select Privacy
  • Here on the left-hand side panel, you will find App Permissions, below that you can see Location, just tap on the toggle button to turn it off

That’s it, this will disable the location access for Microsoft, built-in Windows 10 apps and even Microsoft Store apps on your device.

If you wish to track all apps from tracking you but have got no issues in letting Windows accessing your location, you can keep the earlier settings ‘On’

  • As you open the Settings page on your computer by clicking (Windows + I)
  • Scroll down on the same page and you will find Privacy option on the left side panel on your Windows screen

microsoft new OS

For a long time, we all know that Microsoft has been dominating the desktop operating system market with Windows OS.

As per the information we got from various sources, Microsoft is ready to release a Lite-weight operating system, which is intended for the low-end laptops and foldable devices. The OS is entirely a new one programmed from scratch. It doesn’t have any similarities with Windows 10.

It is clear that the new OS won’t pronounce as Windows 10 Lite also. That’s why Microsoft is using “Santorini” as the code name for this project. The company may name the OS when it is ready for the general public. Slowly, Google is occupying the desktop market with Chromebooks. At last Microsoft started countering Google in the low-end desktop devices by focusing on the new OS.

The new OS might be announced in the Microsoft Build 2019 conference, which is scheduled to start in between May 7 and May 9 of this year. Everything is perfect, but Microsoft needs to focus on the number of applications available on Microsoft Store. Google Chromebooks achieved popularity after they have been supporting Android Apps. Microsoft must address the gap to compete with Chromebooks. Otherwise, only a brand new operating system doesn’t do magic, and users feel helpless when there is a lack of app support. Nowadays people are expecting innovative applications to address their day to day requirements.

Later Microsoft removed the complete DOS environment and limited the Command Prompt to a shell. Now, coming to the point, Microsoft completely stopped the DOS shell in the latest insider build and replaced it with the most powerful tool called `Power Shell’.

If you issued cmd command in the run dialog box, instead of executing the command prompt now you will get the Power Shell. So Microsoft brought a major change in the opening system with the latest move.

At present Microsoft provided a provision to get the Command Prompt back by disabling a setting called ‘Replace Command Prompt with Windows PowerShell in the menu when I right-click the Start button or press Windows key+X’ to Off’  in the personalization settings.

Actually Power Shell is not new to the Microsoft users. It offers more powerful features to those who use core commands in the operating system. The sophisticated tool is celebrating its 10th anniversary right now. The change will be reflected in the final build of the Windows 10 operating system soon. So get ready to use the Power Shell.
