Do or Die Situation for Microsoft

October 24, 2016 by computerera

Do or Die Situation for Microsoft

Microsoft ruled personal computer world for more than two decades, no doubt about it. But what next? Does the company losing its existence in the technology market? Here is the breif analysis.

Technology means Microsoft

Even a couple of other operating systems existed in the field of technology before Microsoft DOS, and Windows entered into the market, for the regular PC user Windows played a crucial role. Desktop users widely adopted IBM PCs with Microsoft Windows installed on them. Later the momentum shifted to Laptops,

Mobile usage changed the fate of Microsoft

Even though mobile usage started from 2001 with Symbian series 60 and UIQ series operating systems, it triggered to the next level after Android operating arrival in the year 2008. Microsoft has a great chance to compete Android at that time. But major strategic failures caused the company to lose its existence in the smartphone market.

Windows, What next?

Last year Microsoft decided to stop the version numbering after Windows 10 release. Earlier PC users used to wait for the Windows latest versions time to time. But now Windows also lost the craze and curiosity in the PC users. Even though Microsoft releasing periodic updates to the Windows 10 people are least aware of the new changes taken place in the latest updates.

Microsoft has to follow a proper plan to keep the desktop market share it is enjoying right now. Otherwise, nobody thinks about Microsoft.

New technologies

Microsoft is spending more resources on Artificial Intelligence and few other upcoming technologies. But there is also an intense competition from the rivals in this area also. For example, the company is focusing on Cloud services, but there is a strong competition from Amazon web services and other players in cloud technologies. This is the right time for Microsoft to future-proof their ideas. Otherwise, it may be wiped out from the memories of the users.

Soon you can get an Email ID in your language

August 2, 2016 by computerera

Email

Irrespective of the languages we speak, till now we are forced to create a mail ID in English. If everything goes well, soon you can create a mail ID in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam.

Govt. Of India is requesting all the major email service providers like Gmail, Yahoo to offer local language support while creating new email IDs.

According to the reports we are hearing, Govt. already conducted a high-level meeting with Google, Microsoft, and Rediff on this issue.

Microsoft expressed that they are already working to provide the feature to their Outlook platform. Right now Microsoft Internet Explorer, Edge, and Outlook softwares are supporting domain names in local languages. If there is a site in local language immediately when we typed the local domain name in Microsoft Edge browser, it resolves the IP address of the website comfortably.

As per the sources, Google also responded positively to the Govt. Of India’s request.

August 1, 2016 by computerera

Free Windows 10

A couple of days back, i.e. on 29th July Microsoft stopped to providing Free Upgrade facility to the Windows 7, Windows 8, 8.1 users. If you want to use Windows 10, you must purchase the retail version right now.

I had warned a number of times before the deadline. Few people followed my guidelines and upgraded to Windows 10. If you are one in the unlucky category who missed the Free Upgrade offer, here is an alternative trick to get Windows 10 free still now.

Microsoft offers Free Windows 10 upgrade for those who are suffering from disabilities. The company created a dedicated web page for the customers who are using assistive technologies.

By visiting the web page, you can get Free Windows 10 upgrade without fail. Here is the statement from Microsoft about this offer:

“For the general public, the free upgrade offer for Windows 10 ends on July 29. However, if you use assistive technologies, you can still get the free upgrade offer even after the general public deadline expires as Microsoft continues our efforts to improve the Windows 10 experience for people who use these technologies.”

It doesn’t ask any valid proof for the disabilities. Just you have to press “Upgrade Now” button on the web page. Immediately one EXE file will be downloaded into PC, and the upgrade process will begin.

windows 10 upgrade

You have only a couple of months left for the free upgrade of the Windows 10 operating system. After July 29th, 2016 Microsoft will charge retail price for the Windows 10 operating system.

Unlike Windows 8, Microsoft released Windows 10 as the free upgrade to the existing genuine Windows users those who are using Windows 7 or Windows 8 licensed versions.

Microsoft clearly mentioned that it will provide the free upgrade for the first year period only commencing from the release date. By 29th of July, the specified time will come in the end.

Microsoft is prompting the Windows users frequently about the Windows 10 upgrade. Those people who find it hard to adopt newer versions and people who have compatibility issues with their existing software or hardware simply ignoring the Windows 10 upgrade messages.

Whatever the reason, this is your last chance to upgrade to Windows 10 without paying any amount. If you still in a confusion whether to upgrade or not to the Windows 10 operating system, decide immediately. One year is more than enough for a decision.
