Since Freedom 251 Launch, few people try to grab the media attention with cheap smartphone ideas. “Namotel Achhe Din” is the latest incident in that category.
Smartphone for Rs. 99/- is highly impossible. The promoter Madhava Reddy knows this. That’s why he specified the original price as Rs. 2,999/- and tricked the customers Rs. 99 as the special introductory price.
Yesterday popular media houses and TV channels in India wrote exclusive articles and specification sheets on their platforms about this Rs. 99 phone. I already fought vigorously on Freedom251 at that time. Coming to this new bogus phone, I decided to be silent. But I got plenty of requests to open up on this latest issue, and that’s why this article is shaped.
I have few doubts about this phone, my questions are..
1. How can the promoter Madhava Reddy offers Rs. 2,999 valued phone for Rs. 99? How he bears the additional financial burden, i.e. Rs. 2,900 for each unit he sells? He didn’t mention any tie-up with bankers and financial institutions or investors support for this. Think how it could be possible?
2. “Pictures shown in the website is for illustration purposes only” – this is the message Namotel website display for “Namotel Achhe Din” model listing? This indicates that they don’t have an idea on the phone prototype they are going to manufacture? Then how can we trust just by seeing the basic specifications?
3. I tried to open the Namotel site today. Whatever the reasons hosting company already suspended the account. You can guess the reliability of the company with this incident.
4. They are asking us to register with bemybanker.com prior to phone booking. You need to submit your Aadhaar details and photo for this. In my opinion, no private firm has right to demand identity details and personal information as a photograph for their business.
So please don’t trust such type of false cheap smartphone tactics.
