Good News for BSNL Users, post FUP speed increased

July 28, 2016 by computerera

BSNL Users

Very good news for state-owned BSNL users . Now you can enjoy BSNL all packages minimum at 1 Mbps speed post FUP (Fair Usage Policy). Miserably till now, BSNL set just 512 Kbps speed once you crossed your allowed bandwidth. But starting from 1st August 2016, it will be 1 Mbps minimum speed.

Internet speed is the most crucial aspect of the present technology world. Those days are gone when 512 Kbps considered as comfortable. Now at least 2 Mbps is required to perform our regular activities. You are already aware of the fact that last year BSNL increased its minimum speed to 2 Mbps.

FUP is essential to avoid misuse of valuable internet resources. Without FUP internet to the common man is impossible at affordable prices. Not only saving global internet resources, but FUP is also bringing profits to the ISPs. They are introducing more plans with higher speed and placing FUP limits for higher prices. The entire process is a part of the business.

Google-internet-speed-test

Google internet speed test is rolling out through the search results. Till now to test our internet download, upload speeds we depend on various services like Speedtest.net etc.,

Last month, few reports already said Google is working on internet speed test tool through its search results page, and finally, it came to live.

Few residents in the US reported they were getting Google Speed Test results when they typed the key phrase “check my internet speed” on the Google search page.

Once the key phrase typed, Google automatically opens up a widget shown above and provides us the download, upload speeds along with Latency, server details and the Google’s conclusion about the quality of the service.

Based on the speed available to us, Google is also providing additional information on which type of services we can enjoy with that speed without any trouble.

Still, it is unclear when Google is rolling out the Speed test feature across the Globe. If the feature available we no need to visit other sites to check our internet speeds and no need to download and install third-party speed test apps from the Google Play Store or App Store. Everything can be possible through simple Google search term.

Are you getting dead slow 3G speeds? Complaining to the customer care people doesn’t work most of the times. There are a lot of issues associated with poor network speeds.

Keeping the problems of the 3G users in the mind, TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) released one dedicated app to measure 3G, 4G speeds of our network. The Android app named “MySpeed (TRAI)” is right now available through “Mobile Sewa App Store.” maintained by the Govt. Of India.

The Mobile Sewa App Store and the “My Speed” Android app is officially launching on 5th July 2016. Once you have installed the app on your phone, it will measure the present download, and upload speeds of your 3G/4G network along with the signal quality and send those details directly to the TRAI.

The application just only transmits the download and upload speeds only; it doesn’t send any personal information to the TRAI, so no need to worry about the privacy.

You already know the fact that the Ministry of Telecommunications and TRAI was jointly working hard to improve telecom infrastructure and call quality since few months. The latest move itself helps to the end user to get better mobile data speeds. People already using “Speed Test” Android app to measure data speeds, but it only displays the stats for yourself only, it can’t send stats to the TRAI.
