Note taking is the major concern for many of the smart phone users. There are many note taking apps until now both for the ios and android platform users. But here comes the one more useful and interesting app from Zoho, a Chennai based company. Its Zoho Notebook, a free note taking application for android and ios users.

The android app may not look as good as the ios app, but it is an efficient working app.

This application makes it easy to create notes, categorize the notes and also editing the notes as well. You can create various notes, check lists, audio notes. It helps you get the work done quickly.

You can even sync your various notes across the device by simply logging into the Zoho account or creating a new one.

The app allows to group the various notes with pinch gesture very easily.

This app from Zoho network works very well as a journal app, and it will be very much useful to those who like to keep a diary of notes. It also serves your various other needs like saving shopping lists, saving audio recordings.

There is no desktop and web application of Zoho notebook as of now.

A Simple Guide On How To Use Microsoft OneNote

Microsoft OneNote is one of the most underrated note taking app. Many have just known it as an application to save to do lists and write down notes, but you can also actually write notes, to do lists, shopping lists with a stylus, and you can also convert your handwritten notes into text and can also organize your recipes collection.

Creating Notes:

The structure of OneNote involves three layers which include Notebooks, Sections, and pages. Once you are done with creating Notebook and sections, you can rename the page by typing in the top left corner of the page. You can then start writing or typing your notes. When you right click on the particular page name you have on the left-hand side of the OneNote, you will get the various options that you can do with the page. You can either choose to have a plain page, or lined page or a page with grid lines.

If your monitor supports using a stylus, I mean if your monitor is a touch screen then you will be provided with the Radial menu which will allow you to choose among the four different pen styles and various colours of pens and sizes of the pen lines.

In case your screen is not a touchscreen, then you will find the paper icon which will have different options which are also OneNote’s more complex.

Camera option which allows you to click pictures and insert them directly into the OneNote page, draw option allows you to draw with your mouse, table option to create your own customized tables. This radial menu is one of the best things in OneNote which gives you easy access to the settings.

Customization:

There is a big room for customization in Microsoft OneNote which makes it the best application. You can get a lot of customizing options once you right click on the particular section or a page you will get the various options to customize. Under the customization options for the section, you will get colour changing option, there will be about 16 colours to choose from which will change the appearance of the entire application once you select a colour, but the right panel and bottom panel colours will be default and will never change and will be purple always.

You can pin a particular page or section to the start screen which will give quick access to that page or section.

Microsoft OneNote automatically saves the content to SkyDrive which will not give a chance to lose your content. And this also allows you to share the links to your pages with your friends and all.
