Microsoft OneNote is one of the most underrated note taking app. Many have just known it as an application to save to do lists and write down notes, but you can also actually write notes, to do lists, shopping lists with a stylus, and you can also convert your handwritten notes into text and can also organize your recipes collection.

Creating Notes:

The structure of OneNote involves three layers which include Notebooks, Sections, and pages. Once you are done with creating Notebook and sections, you can rename the page by typing in the top left corner of the page. You can then start writing or typing your notes. When you right click on the particular page name you have on the left-hand side of the OneNote, you will get the various options that you can do with the page. You can either choose to have a plain page, or lined page or a page with grid lines.

If your monitor supports using a stylus, I mean if your monitor is a touch screen then you will be provided with the Radial menu which will allow you to choose among the four different pen styles and various colours of pens and sizes of the pen lines.

In case your screen is not a touchscreen, then you will find the paper icon which will have different options which are also OneNote’s more complex.

There is a big room for customization in Microsoft OneNote which makes it the best application. You can get a lot of customizing options once you right click on the particular section or a page you will get the various options to customize. Under the customization options for the section, you will get colour changing option, there will be about 16 colours to choose from which will change the appearance of the entire application once you select a colour, but the right panel and bottom panel colours will be default and will never change and will be purple always.

You can pin a particular page or section to the start screen which will give quick access to that page or section.

Microsoft OneNote automatically saves the content to SkyDrive which will not give a chance to lose your content. And this also allows you to share the links to your pages with your friends and all.

So this is how you can easily use your OneNote application, hope you like this and start using OneNote and make it your default note-taking app.
