In the process of making everything digitalized and encouraging online payments among the public, the government of India has taken another good initiative and launched an android app with the name BHIM which is abbreviated as Bharath Interface for Money.
National Payments Services department related to payments in the Central Government has made this move and introduced this app for the favour of public and to help the public in moving towards the online payments mode and makes payment process easy and really quick.
Narendra Modi launched this app and it’s now made available in Google Playstore. It works in UPI mode (Unified Payments Interface). It is a method of transferring money to the persons with accounts in various banks instantly and easily. Every bank has launched their very own app for doing UPI-based payments. And now it is the Government who took the initiative.
After downloading the BHIM app from the Play store, we must first need to register our bank account. Our registered mobile number is considered as the payment address. If we have to transfer money to someone, we just have to select their mobile number and enter the amount to be transferred, then the amount will be transferred from our account to theirs.
In the same way, we just have to give our mobile number to others if we have to receive payment from them.
Almost all the major public and private sector banks have been a part of this. You can even select a custom payments address, in case if you don’t like to make your mobile number as your payments address.
Using this android app, one can transact up to Rs.20,000 a day and Rs.10,000 on a transaction.
BHIM app makes online payments more hassle free and easy for the public.
