August 27, 2016 by computerera

Samsung Cloud

Samsung launched its Cloud Storage service to the Android mobile users. You might be familiar with the Google’s backup service which backups installed apps list, WiFi passwords and other important settings of the Android smartphones.

Samsung Cloud launched as the direct competitor to the Google backup service. The cloud service continuously backups the data from native apps like Contacts, Calendar, and few third-party apps. So whenever you are planning to buy a new smartphone, Samsung Cloud helps you. You no need to worry about installing all the apps and configuring accounts.

While setting up the new phone, just sign in into your Samsung Cloud account, it automatically takes care of everything. It installs the apps you earlier used on your previous phone, restores contacts, messages, bookmarks, TouchWiz user interface settings, WiFi passwords and all the other important data to the new device.

Samsung Cloud is not similar to other universal cloud storage services. It doesn’t have any dedicated app on the Google Play Store. Instead, it installs as the OTA (Over The Air) update for your Samsung phone. Here remember that Samsung Cloud only supports Samsung Galaxy phones.

At present Samsung Cloud OTA update is started rolling out for Galaxy Note 7, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge phones. Soon the same will be available for the other Samsung devices.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 exploded while charging

August 24, 2016 by computerera

We came across few stories about exploded phones in the recent past, particularly with Xiaomi and iPhone. Again the same happened with Galaxy Note 7, the latest flagship phone from Samsung.

One member in the Chinese forum Baidu with the screen name Mr. Ni666666 posted series of exploded Galaxy Note 7 photos. As per his own words, he left the phone charging at night, suddenly he heared sound and waken up. He found his phone caught fire.

It looks that using wrong charger caused this incident. Usually Samsung Galaxy Note 7 comes with white USB type-C charger. But if you observed the photos clearly, you can notice that the user connected third-party black charger to charge his phone.

Using the wrong voltage, and cheap quality chargers always damage battery or leads to fire. It happened number of times earlier. Samsung didn’t responded on the incident till now.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 got highest benchmark results and stood as the sexiest device in terms of design and build quality. Soon the device is hitting Indian market.

What is wrong with Apple? Why it is not competing with Android phones?

August 14, 2016 by computerera

Apple Samsung Comparison

Compared to the feature-set latest Android phones have these days, Apple is far behind in the race. For example, take Samsung, the company bringing innovations every year to its flagship devices.

The latest Samsung flagship Galaxy Note 7 equipped with an iris scanner along with fingerprint sensor and the device is IP68 water &dust proofed. On the other hand, another Android phone manufacturers like Xiaomi, LG, LeEco., etc. are spending more resources on new features for an affordable price.

What is wrong with Apple? The company has always been focusing more on build quality and introducing a few new features with its proprietary operating system iOS. IPhone fans are getting nothing new more than that.

Frankly speaking, it seems that Apple is not at all bothers about the new features Android flagships getting with their every new model. Apple has a substantial share in the smartphone market. That’s why it is not feeling the heat from Android phones.

If we took iPhone 7 which is going to launch in next month into the consideration, concerning design the phone is near identical to iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Faster processor, dual-lens camera, removal of the headphone jack, and redesigned antenna bands are the only changes taken place in the upcoming Apple iPhone.

If you are using iPhone 6 or 6S, there is no strong tempting point for you to upgrade to iPhone 7. In the same manner, if we compare Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Note 7 there are lots of new things happened with the latest model.

Apple habituated to enjoy its fan base. Apple fans always argue, trying to convince people by highlighting the butter smooth performance iOS and Apple iDevices deliver. Yeah, the calibration both the hardware and operating system have is a great point, but it is not enough for those who invests thousands of rupees every year on newer iPhone models.

Apple must start to do magics with the upcoming models. Otherwise, the downtrend right now it is experiencing with iPhone sales will completely damage the brand value sooner or later.
