There is a high demand for fingerprint sensor-based smartphones in these days. Fingerprint sensors are equipped with budget phones also. A couple of days back I wrote an article about below Rs. 10,000 phones which consist of the Fingerprint sensor.
Placement of the fingerprint sensor is a major drawback for any phone model. Few models sport with the fingerprint sensor on the back side of the phone. It sounds good, but it is not practically comfortable to use the fingerprint sensor whenever we required it. For example, when you placed the phone on the desk, you need to take into the hand first and flip the phone to use the fingerprint sensor.
And few phones like Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus equipped with a fingerprint sensor on the front side of the phone. This approach also takes away the beauty of the phone. Device manufacturers can’t place the fingerprint sensor on the edge of the phone because the lack of required space.
In this scenario, LG came up with an innovative idea about fingerprint sensors. LG developed a fingerprint sensor which hides conveniently under the cover glass of the smartphone.
This technique not only saves the space, but also the accuracy of the fingerprint sensor is incredibly perfect. The failure ratio of the fingerprint detection is just 0.002 percent which is negligible.
LG didn’t mention anything about the availability of this biometric technology, but LG itself could be the first company which releases smartphones based on this latest fingerprint technology.
