December 10, 2017 by Satyapriya

The Social Network has almost become our daily routine as we are unable to spend a day without logging in it. While there are many social networking applications available at present to keep us engaged, entertained and connected, we still search for new applications, services all the time as we love to find new things and wish to get new researchs. Have you ever thought of having your very own social networking website, if you haven’t ever thought of that, then start thinking about it now.  As there is a really cool platform that allows you to have a social networking site designed by you, it seems possible and easy.

Ning is the platform that allows the users to create a social networking website of their own. It has simple to use and create interface that allows the users to just simply create their custom network. The drag and drop network editor and the Design studio that the platform has are really cool and easy tools. And one thing that you should remember before you use this is that this social network that you design here will work with connection with the domain that you already own, so for this purpose, you should already be having a domain of your own and this will help you to create your custom own social network.

The platform even has some really great pre-installed apps and tools that can help you to create your custom design for your social website. You can use your own photos and videos for visualizing your portal. The customizations in the platform even allow the users to grow their user base. And if you have knowledge in HTML, CSS, and Javascript, then you can also customize and add your custom web pages.

So, if you really have a good idea and feel that your idea can be transformed into reality, then Ning platform provides you the best opportunity, just go and try it.

Facebook demands Court Order to remove objectionable content in India

May 3, 2016 by computerera

facebook india it act

Facebook changed the way it honors content removal requests from various laws enforcing authorities in India.

People all over the India post a huge amount of content ranging from personal opinions to political views. There is a lot of scope for crime and criminal activity on Facebook.

Earlier Facebook considered content removal requests from the police department and other legal bodies just with the official letter signed by the concerned officer.

Now Facebook has decided to follow a different approach, now onwards it only remove the content only it gets the government or court order. This is because of the misused section 66A of the IT Act of 2000, which Supreme Court of India dismissed last year.

Section 66A has its own advantages personally I treat this section as the remedy for various online issues. But as I already said above, this section got misused a lot.

Without any proper base celebrities and popular persons in politics started to abuse the section and it finally stroked down by the Supreme Court of India.

Making Laws is not sufficient in any country, strictly following those laws with common sense is what’s needed for the better society. Here in India most of the sections in IT Act are outdated, and sometimes they have a broad meaning which can be easily abused.

Today we are seriously talking about the Facebook only, but there are a lot of social networks and other platforms emerging into the Indian technology market which becomes the platform for antisocial activities.

So as a lawmaking establishment, the government should set up expert team consists of lawyers and tech people. Otherwise, solutionless tech crimes will increase.

Facebook follows its Community Guidelines if they applicable for the content removal without the court order.

Facebook is in Big Trouble in the form of user engagement

May 2, 2016 by computerera

Facebook is facing user engagement issue, yeah, what you heard is correct. These are not my words, “GlobalWebIndex” clearly stated this in its latest report.

In recent times I observed a few posts from the friends, in which they mentioned that they are losing interest on Facebook. On an average Facebook posts declined dramatically around the globe. Even though Facebook continues as the number one social networking platform, the percent of the users who post at least a single status update once in a month declined to 33% compared to last year’s percentage i.e. 44%.

Not only status updates, but people are also not willing to share the photos active on Facebook. Last year, 46% of the total Facebook users shared their personal photos on Facebook platform, but this also declined to 37% this year.

Earlier, when Facebook found downtrends in its social engagement it tried to overcome it by creating new applications into the Facebook platform. As per the reports right now Facebook is building a photo sharing application which has the characteristics of the Snapchat. You can also record live video and share them with friends, by using this new application.

facebook camera

When we consider Facebook’s similar attempts earlier, the latest app’s success is also unpredictable. Facebook acquired Instagram in 2012, at the same time Facebook came up with another app called Camera. But it didn’t taste the success and Facebook stopped it in 2014. Facebook released another application immediately in 2014, with the name Singleshot, directly targeting Snapchat. It is also a big failure for the Facebook, which killed the application after 18 months of its arrival.

Right now Facebook is enjoying its top position in social media, but the user engagement trends create fear in the Facebook team. If the users found a better alternative than the Facebook, they will migrate to that platform mercilessly.

I hope Facebook will not lose its social dominance. It knows the great tactics to follow in critical situations.
