More than 8000 Indian websites hacked the first three months of 2016 according to the details Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad furnished to the Parliament today.

Below are the statistics mentioned in his written reply to the Lok Sabha.

And statistics for the Indian website hacking incidents are below for the last four years.

2014 – 32,323 sites hacked
2015 – 27,205 sites hacked
2016 (till March) – 8,056 sites hacked.

And the minister has also provided the statistics for the spam emails reported to the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In). Below are the details:

2013 – 54,677 spam emails
2014 – 85,659 spam emails
2015 – 61,628 spam emails
2016 (till March) – 13,851 spam emails.

Here you can read his statement.

“The National Cyber Security Policy is released for public use and implementation by relevant stakeholders. The objective of the policy is to create a framework for comprehensive, collaborative and collective response to deal with the issue of cyber security at all levels within the country,” he said.

Here in India, the vast majority of the cyber crimes will not be reported to any Govt. Agency. Myself, I don’t know where to report on cyber attacks, so we have to consider above statistics as the formality Govt., providing to the general public.

Govt. Should bring full awareness of cyber security and other precautions across the India, people using technology without having sufficient security knowledge. Govt. has to focus on that. Otherwise, unreported cyber crimes will increase at a faster pace.

Don’t Worry, Here is the solution to stop Spam on Facebook

April 22, 2016 by computerera

facebook spam

Since a couple of days I’ve noticed panic environment around all the Facebook users. People posting disclaimer notices mentioned that “they don’t have any direct connection with the adult video spam circulating through personal messages.

Earlier on every occurrence when the spam triggered, I made a number of detailed posts about the procedure to stop spam and provided guidelines through various TV channels also. But still people are becoming victims for such type of spams.

How Facebook Spam Circulate..

Spam creators target human weakness to circulate spam virally. Adult content, exciting thumbnails are the main strategy they follow. They just create a plugin with Java script which grabs our Friend list. This is enough to make vast damage in social media.

First you will come across a spam thumbnail which offers Nude or porn content to watch. Without any second thought, you follow that link. It will redirect to an external site, where you have requested to download a free plugin to watch that adult content. As you are already in a hurry to watch that at any cost, you don’t think about security concerns behind this move.

You finally install that plugin and waiting to watch the adult content. But in return one error message disappoints you without giving any clue about what happened behind.

What happened behind that?

Still, you are in a thought that you are not able to watch that porn video. But a lot of damage already finished without your notice. That plugin collects your Facebook friend list and sends “porn thumbnail” messages to all of your friends with random file numbers. Now they are the targets for the spam. Some type of spam makes timeline posts on your walls by adding tags to your friends. This is also nasty thing.

What to do?

Simple solution here.

1. If you got spam personal video from others:

You no need to worry, simply ignore it. Don’t click it, don’t tempt to open it. If somebody tagged you in spam timeline post’s, try to remove the tag or keep silent, no need to worry.

2. If you already clicked and infected your system..

Follow the below video to clean your infected system.

Please share this article to educate other Facebook users who are becoming victims for spam links.
