There are plenty of speed test apps available on Android Google Play Store. But the one I demonstrated in this video tutorial is unique. It is an Official application developed by TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India). It measures the download, upload speeds, packet loss details etc and provides us the option to report directly to TAI if we are getting slow connection speeds.
Now the Telecom Regulator authority of India has launched an official application for Android and iOS devices to speed test the internet. The official speed test app from TRAI is MySpeed. This app measures the download and upload speed of both the cellular and Wi-Fi internet connections.
This app allows the users to send in their speed test results to the regulatory body which in back will be helpful for it to check the quality services offered by the telecom service providers. In the past TRAI received many complaints from the mobile internet users complaining about the slow internet speed by service providers.
MySpeed app from TRAI is fairly very simple to use and has a very clean and neat interface. You can download the app for free from Google Playstore or Appstore as of now and when you open the app it will automatically detect the connection of your device whether it is on Wi-Fi or a 2G connection or a 3G connection. In the same page there will be a begin test button which the users can press if they wish to and there will be a log of all the previous test performed and after showing the test there will be a button send to TRAI that you can choose if you wish to send the same result to TRAI or you can even send the result in a later time as well. This app surely be very much helpful for the users by allowing them to send in their speed test results directly to TRAI and thus allowing it to assess the services and keep a check on the services being offered by the service providers.
