Samsung Pay is coming to India soon

December 19, 2016 by computerera

The international tech gaints Google, Samsung have their own payment systems in association with number of banks located in various countries. Google has Google Wallet since a long time and the service was renamed as Android Pay in the recent past.

On the other hand, Samsung started dedicated payment authentication service exclusively for the Samsung smartphones with the name Samsung Pay. The service is now available in Australia, Canada, Brazil, China and few other countries across the globe. Samsung is planning to roll out Samsung Pay in India in the first quarter of 2017.

Samsung Pay has association with State Bank of India, Axis Bank, ICICI, HDFC, Andhra Bank and few other private and nationalized banks in India.

Once the service is rolled out those who are using Samsung smartphones can link their bank accounts, debit or credit cards with their smartphone and make payments in the retail outlets where Samsung Pay is supported.

Compared to Android Pay, Samsung Pay has limited potentiality because it is restricted to the Samsung devices only whereas Android Pay can be integrated into any Android smartphone available irrespective of the brand and model number.

Anyhow we have to wait to know what extent these international payment systems influence Indian people.

bsnl lifetime free voice calls

Reliance became curtain raiser for exciting competition between Indian telecoms in India. After the Reliance Jio, now BSNL also coming with Lifetime Free Voice calls to its subscribers. Similar to Reliance BSNL also starting to focus on Data revenue instead of voice calls.

As per the statement from Anupam Shrivastava, starting from 1st Jan 2017 BSNL offers Lifetime Free Voice calls for every plan the subscribers use.

Reliance Jio starting plan is priced at Rs. 149 whereas BSNL announced that their plans would be at least 2-5 rupees cheaper than Reliance. If it happens, here the main competitor for Reliance Jio is BSNL.

But as per the information we got from the trusted sources, the users must have a home broadband connection to avail lifetime free voice calls. BSNL will route the voice calls through home broadband with the help of landlines associated with that broadband.

Reliance Jio only works in those areas where 4G connectivity is available. But BSNL has 2G, 3G and 4G networks across thousands of villages, towns, and cities in India. So the user base will be much greater than Reliance Jio who are going to enjoy BSNL free lifetime calls.

Good bye, No more Command Prompt in Windows 10

November 18, 2016 by computerera

Every Windows user is familiar with the Command Prompt available in the operating system. Once upon a time time when DOS is the only operating system available, Command Prompt played a crucial role in issuing various commands and getting the results.

Later Microsoft removed the complete DOS environment and limited the Command Prompt to a shell. Now, coming to the point, Microsoft completely stopped the DOS shell in the latest insider build and replaced it with the most powerful tool called `Power Shell’.

If you issued cmd command in the run dialog box, instead of executing the command prompt now you will get the Power Shell. So Microsoft brought a major change in the opening system with the latest move.

At present Microsoft provided a provision to get the Command Prompt back by disabling a setting called ‘Replace Command Prompt with Windows PowerShell in the menu when I right-click the Start button or press Windows key+X’ to Off’  in the personalization settings.

Actually Power Shell is not new to the Microsoft users. It offers more powerful features to those who use core commands in the operating system. The sophisticated tool is celebrating its 10th anniversary right now. The change will be reflected in the final build of the Windows 10 operating system soon. So get ready to use the Power Shell.
