Sony Ericsson P900

Image: My Sony Ericsson P900 purchased in  Dec 2003

Almost 12 years back, in 2004 when I used Sony Ericsson P900, 2nd touchscreen phone in the world with the Symbian UIQ operating system, wherever I go people encountered me with their unusual looks.

Nobody predicted the future of smartphones in those days. People treated phones as the communication medium to make calls and SMS. Those are the days 16K color phones with VGA cameras created a craze in consumers.

Smartphone market came across a rapid growth in the past decade. We switched over to the mobile phones from desktop computers unconsciously.

Now mobile market began to experience the same downtrend as the desktop computers tasted in the last decade. The percent of the people who upgrade their smartphones at least two times in a year is slowly decreasing.

It is the reason for the latest technological innovations taking place around the globe. Now companies focusing more on Smart watches, virtual reality headsets, other wearable gadgets and IoT devices.

Smartphones still exist for another 10 to 15 years, but their role in the day to day life will change a lot from traditional phone calling, SMS Facebook, Whatsapp usage to a more powerful central dashboard for all other gadgets we are going to use.

Image: IoT will change entire Technology market

At present, we are continuously searching for powerful smartphones with high specifications. It became very hard for the mobile manufacturing companies to equip more RAM, more storage, and powerful cameras into their upcoming models. By a certain point in time, our search for greater specifications will come to an end, and mobile manufacturers will set a few baseline specifications for the mobile handsets and focus more on other gadgets and technologies.

I hope we will experience this smart migration soon.

May 7, 2016 by computerera

whatsapp desktop

Almost since January 2014, I have educated on various methods to use Whatsapp on the PC. Here you can watch few videos I prepared earlier for this purpose.

How to Use Whatsapp Messenger on your Computer? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAA3C8HwJOg

How to Run WhatsApp in Your PC with Andy? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyClKcCH3mI

How to Access Your WhatsApp Account from Computer? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8s2F3Rgxvuw

How to Use WhatsApp from PC? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4fboqEb3iE

All the above methods involved installing third-party virtualization software like Blue Stacks, Andy, etc.

To provide a more comfortable way to access Whatsapp on the desktop, last year the company introduced the web version of Whatsapp that can be accessible through Google Chrome, Firefox, and other browsers. Now most of the users who spend some hours in front of the PC utilizing web version of Whatsapp to communicate with their buddies.

Another great news for the PC and Mac users, latest leaked screenshots from a Twitter user suggests that full-pledged Whatsapp client for the PC and Mac operating systems is in the development. Sooner or later we are going to experience it. It will have all the functionality that mobile Whatsapp app is providing right now.

So get ready for the dedicated Whatsapp desktop client. Already other popular messaging services like Line, WeChat are already providing their desktop counterparts for the PC users from a long time.
