Learn How To Use Skype Even If You Don’t Have An Account

May 20, 2020 by Satyapriya

Skype, the most popular video calling website from the software giant Microsoft requires an account to use the service.

But recently the popular video calling service has introduced a new feature using which the users can now video call with their friends and family even if they don’t have an account.  This comes as an extension to the feature added by the company in 2015 October where the users are given the choice of adding non-Skype users to their conversations.

Using this feature, you will be considered as a guest. All the guest conversations are done with the unique link which one can share with their friends or family to whom he/she wants to talk over the video calling service. The link lasts for 24 hours and allows a text chat for about 300 people and 35 people over a voice or video call.

Screen and file sharing are the basic account features that can be accessed by guest users.

Getting started with Skype:

This is the webpage that one needs to go through to start up the process of accessing account free               Skype.

  • You will find an option called start the conversation, just click on it.
  • Enter a name for the conversation and it will prepare a screen for the conversation.
  • On the left side of the screen, you will find the copy the link option. After copying, you will send that link through various means like messaging, email, Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp many others to the people whom you would like to chat with over the service.

PC users will be directed to open that link using the Skype app, or they can even choose to join the conversation using the web as a guest. Mobile users can join the conversation using the mobile app.

Get started with Skype without an account.

Now the users will start receiving the update and after updating the application, they will be able to do video calling from their respective device.

This update to the app makes it a tough competitor to the Google Duo application, the video calling app from Google.

WhatsApp users.. Get ready for the Video Calling and other features!

April 28, 2016 by computerera

whatsapp

We always eagerly wait for new features in Whatsapp time to time. If you are part of that category, here is the good news for you. Whatsapp is introducing few new features in the coming update. Those features are already live in Whatsapp beta version right now. Here is the list of new features we can experience soon.

Call back:

Whatsup introduced Voice calls few months back. To add more functionality to this, Whatsapp spiced it up with the Call Back feature. If you missed any Whatsapp call from your contact, you would immediately get Call back feature.

No need to open Whatsapp to call back the contact again, just tap the callback notification, which appears on your phone’s notification panel.

ZIP file support

In the initial days, WhatsApp supported only images and videos as attachments. Few days back Whatsapp began to support a few more file types. With the latest move, you will be allowed to send ZIP files also as the Whatsapp attachments.

ZIP support is big news for those we want to transfer different types of data through Whatsapp. You can compress unsupported files also within the ZIP file and transfer it to the recipient.

Voice Mail

The wasp is introducing Voice Mail feature also exclusive to the iOS Users. Android users have to wait few months to get this. If you fail to contact anyone through Whatsapp call, then you can record a voice mail to get in touch with them. It sounds like traditional voice mail features available in Landline and mobile phones.

Video Calling

As per the leaks, I’m getting, Whatsapp is also planning to introduce Video Calling feature to iOS users initially. The same will be rolled out to the Android users later.

Update (dated 14th May 2016): Finally Whatsapp Video calling arrived for Whatsapp Beta for Android. Here is the screenshot of my Whatsapp beta client.
