You can actually make your computer greet you every time you login in to your PC and here are the few simple steps, you need to follow.
You can make your windows greet you with a custom voice message at start up
- First you have to click on the Start Menu and then navigate to accessories and Notepad.
- Copy and paste the following in the Notepad
Dim speaks, speech
speaks=”Welcome to your PC, Username”
Set speech=CreateObject(“sapi.spvoice”)
speech.Speak speaks
- Replace the “Username” with the name that you would like to be greeted by the computer.
- Click on the File Menu of the notepad and then click on Save as option and then select all types in Save as Type option and save the file with any name of your choice with the extension .vbs.
- Now copy the file that you have saved.
- Navigate
Windows Xp: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Windows 7, 8 Vista: C:\Users\ {User-Name}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
- Now paste the file.
- You are done, the next time, you login into your PC you will here the custom Voice message.( I mean your computer will greet you)
For best result, you are advised to change the sound scheme to no sounds. This can be done as follows.
Go to Control Panel>Sound and Audio Device>Then go to Sounds Tab>Select No Sounds in the Sounds Scheme option and then click on Apply and Ok. That’s it you are done.
