Whatsapp introduced another interesting feature to its platform called Whatsapp Public Group links (Invite to group via link).

If you have admin rights for any Whatsapp group, you can find out the latest option in the Add friend option to the group. Once you head over to the Group info option, you can find the Add contact option. When you tapped the option, now you can see another new option there with the name Invite to group via link above the list of the contacts.

When you selected the option it immediately generates a unique shareable link and you can share it through Whatsapp, Mail or Facebook with any contact you want to add them in the group you are managing.

Once the link generated, you can revoke it if you wish to disable the group access for anyone. You can also print the QR Code with the shareable link.

The new option is helpful for the business organizations, non-profit firms, and student groups which want to allow access to a large number of users into the group.

September 20, 2016 by computerera

Whatsapp Tagging

Whatsapp is steadily introducing new features to its messaging app. Today Whatsapp Tagging alias Whatsapp Mentions added for the Whatsapp Android users.

Whatsapp Tagging – How it works?

While you are chatting in a Whatsapp group, you can tag any of the group members by typing @ in the compose box. When you typed @ symbol, immediately all the contacts in that particular Whatsapp group appears on the screen, and you need to select one that you want to tag in the conversation you are typing.

We can call it as Whatsapp Mentions in the Twitter style, or Whatsapp Tagging in the Facebook style terminology.

GIF Support

Whatsapp GIF Support also partially arrived for iOS users. Now iOS users can view GIF images directly in Whatsapp client, but as of now, they can’t send animated GIFs to their contacts.

Whatsapp 2 Factor Authentication

Whatsapp 2 Factor Authentication is also on its way to secure Whatsapp accounts. It adds a security layer to the client. To use this feature, you must first enable PIN or password, or fingerprint lock to the phone they are using.

A few days back I already wrote on Whatsapp Video calls. The feature is also coming very soon. Similar to Facebook Messenger Bots Whatsapp also planning to introduce Bot support for Whatsapp.

Whatsapp video calling is coming soon

September 15, 2016 by computerera

Whatsapp Video Calling

The most awaited feature Whatsapp video calling is coming soon to the Android phones. The latest Android beta version 2.16.268 consists some strings which point to video calls. Whatsapp expand its new features to its upcoming versions in a phased manner.

A few days back Whatsapp brought drawing tools which allow doodling on the images and adding emojis on the picture before sending them to your friends. Whatsapp also introduced Selfie Flash which can be helpful to capture brighter selfies with the phone’s front camera even though there is no dedicated flash available on the front side. The feature uses screen maximum brightness as the flash while capturing selfies.

A couple of months back while making Whatsapp calls users also presented with the Whatsapp Video calls option, but it didn’t work, just Whatsapp teased the feature at that time.

Now the company is seriously planning to introduce Whatsapp video calling as early as possible. One month back Google Duo phone number based one-to-one video calling app from Google came into limelight. But people are not interested in using another app to make video calls.

Because of the same reason usage of Skype also in the downfall. If Whatsapp managed to bring Whatsapp video calls to its platform users will be more than happy. Already Whatsapp users suffered with a spam with the name of Whatsapp Gold which offers Whatsapp video calling.

Whatsapp Speak new option coming

September 12, 2016 by computerera

Whatsapp Speak

Whatsapp is the favorite chat platform for the majority of the smartphone users. Soon you can enjoy Whatsapp Speak new feature while chatting with your friends.

Those who are using an iOS version of the Whatsapp chat client came across the new Whatsapp Speak option randomly while spending time with their friends.

Once a chat conversation is selected, Speak option will appear on the screen. If you wish to listen to the conversation in the audio form through the phone speaker, this option is helpful to you.

Indirectly the option uses the Text-to-Speech engine available on every iPhone and Android device. Sometimes we need to read aloud the conversations while performing other tasks by placing the phone beside us. In such a situations Speak feature in the Whatsapp app is handy.

Along with the Speak option, Whatsapp app provides other regular options like Reply, Delete, Forward in the same popup displayed on the screen.

Just a couple of days back I already reported that, Whatsapp started offering doodling, stickers, and other painting tools on the beta version of the Android client.

In the same version, Whatsapp introduced selfie flash feature also which helps you get brighter selfies with the front facing camera even though it doesn’t have dedicated flash.

Before Facebook bought Whatsapp, we rarely experienced the significant changes in the Whatsapp app. Now after Whatsapp is acquired by the social networking giant the company is adding more innovative features to the chat platform in a timely manner.
