Goodbye old Yahoo Messenger

June 11, 2016 by computerera

yahoo-messenger-old

Goodbye, old Yahoo Messenger . Yes, Yahoo is closing it’s old Yahoo Messenger platform on 5th August 2016.

Since its beginning in the year 1998, I’m an active user of Yahoo Messenger which initially named as “Yahoo Pager”. I still remember those days when people spent many hours on Yahoo Public groups in Yahoo Messenger to find out the opposite sex for personal chatting. ASL (Age, Sex, Location) was the buzz word in those days.

Now Yahoo has decided to stop it’s old Messenger platform completely from 5th August 2016. Last Year Yahoo launched new Yahoo Messenger, which has new age features like Group Messaging etc.

Unlike Whatsapp, Facebook Messenger, and other popular messenger application, new Yahoo Messenger focussed more on speed and quality of streaming photos into the conversation.

When you tried to share a photo from your Gallery first, a small preview of the image will be shared and later the high-resolution, the complete photo will be shared. Not only innovative photo sharing concept, but it also hosts plenty of new features required for modern messaging requirements.

Still, people around the globe using the old Yahoo Messenger, which in turn became problematic for the latest Yahoo Messenger platform. Keeping this in mind Yahoo decided to stop old Messenger platform completely in a couple of months. So the past is the past, no more ASL requests, no more Yahoo Public groups, if you want to use old Yahoo Messenger for another few days before it completely stopped this is the right time to explore it again.

April 17, 2016 by computerera

Okay, let’s do some exercise!

How many passwords do you use from the time you wake up in the morning to the time you go to bed in night? Let’s make a rough count… Facebook, Gmail, Twitter, Amazon, Flipkart, SBI online, LinkedIn, Evernote, Quora etc. Phew, the count doesn’t end still, what about Outlook, Snapdeal, Debit cards info and even your PC or mobile passwords.

Also the burden on our brains doubles if we have multiple accounts for a single website. How many of you remember all those passwords exactly every time you need them? Aren’t you, then this article is for you.
