The online payments have been increasing these days especially in India after the demonetization, people are showing much interest towards the online ways of sending and receiving money without the hassles of the physical cash, changes and all. So, as WhatsApp has been setting up its WhatsApp payments feature for a few months, it is finally going to reach us.
A few users have spotted this feature in the beat version of the WhatsApp application which means WhatsApp payments feature is rolling out to the beta users. This feature allows the users to send money and even receive money through UPI. The UPI based applications have gained a lot of popularity and if WhatsApp offers its users with this feature, it will definitely be much more convenient.
WhatsApp Payments
To use this feature, you will need to link your bank account to this application. The UPI framework works here and allows you to setup with this using your registered WhatsApp number. Here are the simple steps you need to go through to set up. Check out here
You first need to open the WhatsApp application on your device and then tap on the three dot icon on the top right corner of the screen and then select the option Payments Window from the menu.
Then you will be taken to a new window where you will need to verify your phone number to begin with the UPI setup. Remember your WhatsApp number and the UPI registered number should be the same.
Then you will be presented with the list of banks. Select your bank from the list. Then link your account to the app.
Finally, you will see the setup complete message on your screen. And you are all set to send money and receive money through WhatsApp payments.
